The first  Newsletter of December 2010  presents the project and the activities carried out until now. It informs about the fire weather indices, it shows an interview to Daniele Ryser of Fire Brigade Federation of Canton Ticino (CH) and more besides.

The second newsletter focuses on the forest fire management systems across the Alpine regions attending the project.

As concerns this issue, an article about the transnational exercises event in Karst (28-29 May 2011), is described in detail together with the exercises agenda planned  involving all the partners.

Moreover, a very important project result deals with the assessment of forest fire hazard. In particular, a special emphasis has been put on how to predict fire ignition and behavior using fire indices that depend on meteorological variables. As a result, the WIKI software lets the calculation of a wide array of fire danger rating systems and indices to be used to assess forest fire ignition hazard, the most of fire weather indices currently listed in literature.
